Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Aaron Chadwick "Chad" Sherman, 88, of Hartman Loop, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital with loved ones by his side following a brief illness.

Born April 29, 1929, in Bolton Landing, he was the son of Richard and Mary (Brown) Sherman.

He graduated from Benson High School, Portland, Oregon Class of 1947.

Chad had travelled all over the country with family and then worked in a bowling alley in Portland.

He returned to his birthplace of Bolton and married Sylvia J. Harris in November 1950, the mother of his 5 children, who passed away June 1994.

For three years, Chad worked at General Electric in Schenectady in the sheet metal department, and also for Robert J. Sweet for 16 years, as well as Warrensburg Central School as bus driver and mechanic for 21 years , retiring in 1990. He then worked at Whiteman Chevrolet for 8 years.

He later married Lorraine (Stuart) Dean Sherman July 26, 1997.

Some of his enjoyments included hunting, fishing, and camping, along with bowling and wood crafting.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Sylvia Sherman, Chad was predeceased by a sister, Nina Boisell, and a brother, Rodney "Rocky" Sherman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lorraine Sherman of Queensbury; three daughters, Debbie Latham of Ft. Edward, Diane (Bob) Kramer of Warrensburg, and Doreen Perna of Queensbury, two sons, Danny (Barb) Sherman of Stony Creek, and David Sherman of Warrensburg; two step-sons, John (Cindy) Dean of Virginia, and Ronald Dean of Queensbury; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Diana), Jason (Kristen), Katrina (Jacque), Aaron (Sharmarie), Emma, Sylvia (Larry), Dakota (Elizabeth), Darlene; three great-grandchildren, BobbiLee, Owen, and Colton; one step-great-granddaughter, Courtney (Daniel); two sisters, Rita Hoffman of Washington and Muriel Crandall of Hudson Falls; a sister-in-law, Martha Sherman of Nevada; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Calling hours will take place Thursday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to noon at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Flossie Gage Bates officiating.

Interment will be private at Warrensburg Cemetery.

A gathering to celebrate his life, will follow the memorial service, at V.F.W. Post No. 6196 on Luzerne Rd., Queensbury. Everyone is invited to bring your favorite dish to share with friends.
