Alan P. Monroe, born on May 28th, 1939, of Queensbury, NY passed away peacefully on July 11th, 2026 at the age of 87.

He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria and daughter Linda Decker.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Tawny Monroe; his sister, Janet Brady; several nieces and nephews; as well as many friends including those who attend the Glens Falls, NY congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The love and support of his many friends and family has been greatly appreciated by the Monroe family. Especially since the loss of his wife he received many visits and enjoyed telling endless humorous stories.

Alan was a hard worker and retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Company in 1994. He loved nature and the beauty of the Adirondacks and had a special fondness for moose. Alan had a wonderful sense of humor which he often used to uplift others. He was known to love people and showed a genuine interest in all he met. He is best known as a teacher of the Bible. He strongly believed that the Bible offered the best guidance for living a happy life. He also believed what the Bible says about what God promises for the human family, that one day there would no longer be pain and suffering as described at Revelation 21:4. He shared what he knew about the Bible with anyone who would listen knowing that it could help them live a happy life as he and his wife Gloria had lived.

His Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 81 Mohican St, Glens Falls, NY 12801 on September 5th, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
