MOREAU--- Albert J. Steinhauer, 73, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born April 2, 1944 in Tuxedo, N.Y. he was the son of Francis J. Steinhauer and Emma E. (Cox).

Albert served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 and spent one year in Germany.

He worked as an auto tech until his retirement in 2014 and had a love for country music.

In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by a daughter, Karen; a son, Albert Jr.; and his brother, Charles.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Steinhauer of Moreau; sisters, Fran Brashear of Kentucky and Barbara Steinhauer of N.Y.; a brother, Frank (Wanda) of Alabama; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen of West Virginia; brothers-in-law, Bill (Carol) Garrison and Ed Garrison all of Queensbury; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Steinhauer of N.Y.; a very special granddaughter and the apple of Pop's eye, Allyson Rivers and her dad, Matt Rivers; special friends, Brian Brayton of Greenwich, and Neil and Trudy O'Brien of Lake Luzerne; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Albert's request calling hours will be private to family.

Interment with military honors will also be private at Pine View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please hang a bird feeder in Al's loving memory.
