LAKE GEORGE --- Alice Frances Maher, 96, went into the arms of the Lord on November 19, 2022, after a long illness.

She was born Alice Ryan in the Bronx, New York on July 25, 1926, to her parents John Thomas and Alice Malone Ryan. She was the middle child between sisters, Doris and Gloria. She graduated from Cathedral High School, married Richard on September 29, 1951, and raised three children. She was the Administrative Assistant to the president of the firm Barr & Barr, a noted Manhattan architectural company, and retired at age 68.

Alice was an accomplished artist and world traveler. She was a member of the Salmagundi Club and spent part of her retirement in such places as Great Britain, Scotland, Ireland, Israel, France, Spain, and Mexico.

Over the past few years, she lived with her son, Zackary and daughter Darcy in Lake George. She enjoyed the many amenities Lake George offers, especially cruising on the lake and attending local events.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard, who died on June 5, 1980.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Zackary and Bryan; daughter, Darcy; granddaughters, Arianna, Noel and Veronica; several and great-grandchildren.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.
