Obituary

GLENS FALLS --- Alvin Wilfred LaCross, 92, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at his home in Glens Falls.

Born May 20, 1925 in Beekmantown, NY, he was the son of Louis and Ella (Rivers) LaCross.

For over 20 years, Alvin worked at Hudson Falls School and the Department of Transportation. He has been retired for over 30 years.

In 1943, Alvin enlisted in the United States Army Signal Corp, serving during World War II mostly in Italy and Germany and was honorably discharged in 1946.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was predeceased by his four siblings, a sister, Lorrain (LaCross) Aurelia, and three brothers, Herbert, Leroy, and Alfred LaCross.

Those left to cherish his memory are three children, Matt LaCross and his longtime partner, Dawn, Ron LaCross, and Lois (Ronald) Lundgren; three step-children, Karen (Tim) Deming, Judy Petit, Kathy (Dan) McGrath, and Jeff Plummer and longtime partner, Mary Beth; 13 grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will take place Friday, July 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Mihindu and the nurses at Glens Falls Hospital Tower 6.
