GRANVILLE --- Angela "Angie" Vedder (Gookin) Holbrook, 92, of Granville, NY., passed away on Sunday December 31, 2023, at Slate Valley Center where she was receiving physical therapy after a fall.

Angie was born on November 8, 1931, in Biddeford, Maine, daughter of Vincent and Florance Gookin. She spent her childhood in Ogunquit, Maine. She graduated high school at Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg, Maine. In her retirement years she went on to graduate culinary school at Florida Culinary Institute in 1990.

Angie married Robert Holbrook on November 5, 1950, and moved to West Pawlet to restore and work a farm they just purchased.

Angie worked on the dairy farm with her husband until 1974. She loved animals and the farm had many different species. She would tell you her favorites were the goats. She also volunteered for the West Pawlet school lunch program and worked in Rutland County Vermont doing family supports services.

Angie loved to garden and was a very talented oil painter.  She enjoyed wintering in Florida for almost 30 years with her husband.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-three years; and her brother, Vincent Gookin.

Angela is survived by her two sons, Robert Jr. and Mark (Sherie); two granddaughters, Jennifer (Jason) and Christina; two grandsons, Michael (Sarah) and David (Tonya); three step grandsons, Fred, Zachary, and Danial; five great-grandchildren, Colby, Kaiya, Weston, Kelsea, and Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Route 153, Pawlet, Vermont.
