QUEENSBURY --- Ann D. McDonough, 74, of Sargent St., Queensbury, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2013 at the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 11, 1938 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Davison. She graduated from Saratoga High School in 1956 and Skidmore College in 1960, earning a BA Degree.
She married Robert McDonough on July 16, 1960 at Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs.
Ann worked as a Physical Education teacher for the Hudson Falls school system for a number of years. She was involved in many YMCA programs and was also a member of the Glens Falls Twin Club. She enjoyed the outdoors and summers at the coast of Maine. She and her husband, Robert, would spend the summers in Cape Neddick, Maine enjoying the ocean. Ann had been a communicant of Church of the Messiah where she sang in the choir and for a term held the position of senior warden.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents John and Marie Davison.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Robert McDonough of Queensbury; her children, Bruce (Julie) McDonough of Saratoga Springs, Eric (Anne) McDonough of Saratoga Springs, Ellen (Joseph) Malinowski of Niskayuna; a brother, Jack Davison of Rochester, NH; her grandchildren, Joseph and Sarah Malinowski, both of Niskayuna, Drake and Colin McDonough, both of Ballston Spa, and Bennett and Clare McDonough of Saratoga Springs; and a cousin, Debbie (Andy) Ozolins;
At her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. Instead the family will hold a memorial service for Ann on May 18, at 2 p.m. at Church of the Messiah in Glens Falls with the Rev. Scott Harding, pastor, officiating. A reception will follow at the Parish House.
