QUEENSBURY — Ann Buckley Taft, 91, of Bay Road in Queensbury, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward with her family by her side.

Born Feb. 19, 1925 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine "Bonnie" (Ronan) Buckley.

Ann earned her education from St Peter's Hospital Nursing School and worked at Westmount Infirmary as a supervising RN for many years and at Glens Falls Hospital. She was also a very successful real estate agent. She also enjoyed working as a docent at the Hyde Museum in Glens Falls and in Pigeon Key, Florida.

Her enjoyments and hobbies included cooking, gardening, travel, music, great books, being on the water canoeing or sailing either on Lake George or on the ocean in New England or Florida. Her greatest love was her family.

Ann will be remembered for her dedication to helping others within her nursing profession as she proudly wore her uniform and nursing cap. But first and foremost, she will be remembered for her devotion and love for her family. She will be greatly missed.

Besides her parents; Ann was predeceased by her infant daughter, Maria Rene; her brothers, Art, Ed, and Peck; a grandson, Chris; one nephew, "AJ"; and her former husband and the father of her children, Bill Taft.

Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Cynthia and Don Alexy of Marathon, Martha and Ivan Hernandez of Schenectady, Andrea and Larry Gray of Lake George, and Anita and Gino Chiaravalle also of Lake George; grandchildren, Jennifer and Andy Penley, Bill and Shannon Alexy, Gretel-Ann and Brian Fischer, Dolores and Doug Baker, Debra and George Mokhiber, Ivan Hernandez Jr, Adam and Sarah Gray, Ashlee and Tim Currier, Angela and Richard Durant, Emily and Chris Aunchman, Alyssa Chiaravalle, Victoria and John Weinhold; great grandchildren, Donal, Kailyn, Billy, Emily, Julianne, Frederick,Victor, Anya, Teaghen, Benjamin, Aidan, Schuyler, Robert, Harper, Francesca and Julianna; and also several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St. in Queensbury.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at St. Mary's Church, 62 Warren St. in Glens Falls with the Rev. Joseph Manerowski, officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 225 Main St. in South Glens Falls.

Ann's family wishes to thank the staff at Fort Hudson Nursing Center for their compassionate care of their mom in her final journey.
