Obituary

WARRENSBURG and LAKE GEORGE-Anna Irene Baker, 89, of Warrensburg and Lake George area, passed away at Glens Falls Hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born on November 4, 1925 in North Caldwell (Lake George). She was the daughter of the late Earl and Jennie Matteson.

She attended Lake George School and married her high school sweetheart, Beecher H. Baker on Feb. 11, 1944. They were devoted to one another for 59 years until his passing in December 2003.

Anna and her husband worked side by side, owning numerous businesses over the years. She will be best remembered by many as the "pretty little gal" giving orders from behind the desk at The Oak Street Oil Company and B & B Fuels. She loved music, dancing and spending the long cold New York winters basking in the Florida sun, especially with her friends of Silver Springs, Fl.

She is survived by her four children: Karen Sipowicz of Warrensburg, Monty Baker of Titusville FL, Fran Heinrich (George) of Northumberland, and Beecher T. Baker Sr. (Karen) of Queensbury; seven grandchildren: David Sipowicz of San Diego, CA, Kelly Farmer of Northumberland, Jennifer Neilands of Hudson Falls, Ryan Woodard of Fort Bragg, NC, Beecher T. Baker Jr. and Catie Baker both of Warrensburg, and Chase Baker of Queensbury; three great grandchildren: Gabriel, William and Ona; she also leaves behind her loving sister Mary (Chris) Sprague of Diamond Point; her dedicated sister-in-law Marian Morey of Lake George; and several nieces, nephews and cousins and many dear friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 10 a.m. to noon at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.

A funeral service will immediately follow at noon at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph Busch, pastor of Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, officiating.

The family will host a celebration of Anna's life at the home of her son, Beecher, on Farr Lane in Queensbury.

A graveside service will take place Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George with bagpipes being performed by Jerry Cashion.

The family would like to thank the Hudson Headwaters service providers for their tremendous support and guidance. We would also like to thank the Glens Falls Hospital staff (Tower 3) for making Anna's final journey peaceful and dignified for her and her family.
