UPDATED GRAVESIDE NOTICE: A graveside ceremony will take place Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Queensbury.

QUEENSBURY --- Anna J. Bennett, 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday night, February 14, 2023, at The Pines nursing home with her son at her bedside.

She was a 1944 graduate of South Glens Falls High School where, at 16, she was class valedictorian and received a full academic scholarship to the College of Saint Rose in Albany.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Bennett; three sisters, Margaret Cafaro, Mary E. Jones, and Helen B. Whittemore; and one niece, Judith Cafaro.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Bennett of Virginia; two nieces, Barbara Steves of Fort Ann and Nancy Yannotti of Queensbury; a brother-in-law, Gerald L. Bennett of Glens Falls; two cousins, Jonna Barrett of Queensbury and Cathy Anderson of Gansevoort; and numerous other family and friends.

At Anna's request, there will be no memorial services.

Burial will take place in the spring at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Queensbury.

The family would like to thank the second floor south staff at The Pines for all the comfort, care, concern, and laughs during Anna's short stay there.
