Obituary

QUEENSBURY — Anna Marie Harwood (Trombley),71, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2017 due to a long illness.

Anna grew up in the Adirondack area and started her own family at a very young age.

She raised three children while maintaining residency in the local region from Gansevoort to Brant Lake. Anna played a significant role in helping to raise grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Anna was a dedicated and very hard worker. She worked several years at Nibco, C.R. Bard, Wilson's Laundry, and Grand Union Grocery Store.

Anna was known for her cooking, gardening, love of birds (especially hummingbirds). Anything outdoors. She loved to spend time with the family at local campsites, even to the point of including local bears – who joined them unexpectedly for one summer afternoon.

Especially in her last 12 years, the love of her great-grandson, Arron Ladd, became the light of her eyes. For Arron, she will forever be remembered as "the greatest Grammie in the world" (from Arron)

Anna was predeceased by her husband, Walt Harwood; her parents, George and Nellie M. (Quick) Trombley; her daughter, Lily Anna Harwood; brother, Raymond Trombley; half-brother, George Trombley; and her grandson, Ethan Harwood.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, George Harwood of Luzerne, Deborah Harwood of Bethlehem, Indiana, and Wendy Harwood of Queensbury; her grandchildren include Zandy Harwood, Keith Shaffer, Dale Ladd, Karl Shaffer, Nicholas Harwood, and Sarah Harwood; 9 great-grandchildren, Arron Ladd, Lucien Shaffer, Dominic Tooker, Issac Harwood, Kaydence Shaffer, Marleigh Harwood, Julia Barger, Daegan Jacobs, Kyla Shaffer; and three sisters, Evon Russell, Barbara Trombley, and Doris Trombley.
