Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Annette Victoria Morrell Farrar, 68, passed away unexpectedly with her family on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Born April 25, 1956 in Portsmouth, Virginia, she was the daughter of Daniel H. and Marianne (Schulze) Morrell.

Annette graduated from Queensbury Senior High School in 1974. She then went on to attend SUNY Plattsburgh and graduated in 1978.

Annette was a lifelong public servant. She began her career in K-12 education before making a transition to social work at the Saratoga County Department of Social Services in her middle career. In the last chapter of her professional life, she worked in nursing providing elder care at The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs and later returned to public service at Saratoga County Maplewood Manor before retiring.

While she was in school, she was a very talented student, Annette graduated as a member of the National Honor Society. She was avid on showcasing her vocal gift in the school choir, her writing prowess in the school newspaper, and her athleticism on the swim team. In her later years she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, spending time in the sun (preferably on the beach), and reading voraciously. Above all, Annette made every effort possible to support her loved ones until the very end.

In addition to her father, Daniel H. Morrell, Jr., Annette was predeceased by her grandparents, William and Erna Schulze.

Those left to cherish her memory are her companion, David Wemmitt (Ballston Spa, NY); children, Jared Farrar (Oneida, NY), and Ryan Coffin (Venice, FL), mother, Marianne Morrell (Queensbury, NY); grandchildren, Ethan Coffin (Venice, FL); sister, Susan Menaldino (Paul), Heidi Wrye, Holly LeBlanc (Brian), and Catherine Bearor (Brian), all of Queensbury, NY; brother, Daniel Morrell (the late Cherrill) of Queensbury, NY; uncle, Martin Morrell (Glens Falls, NY); many nieces and nephews; and dog, Molly, with whom she spent 12 years.

At the family's request services will be private.
