LAKE LUZERNE --- Aric H. Coon, Sr., 66, of Lake Ave., passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born June 17, 1952, he was the son of Eugene Coon, Sr. and Ethel (Kellogg) Coon.
Aric attended Queensbury High School.
Some of his enjoyments included fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, and hanging out with friends, and his little dog, General Lee AKA, Bugga. He also enjoyed designing and painting vehicles for NASCAR Whelen Modified Series.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Ellington, Connecticut for many years.
Aric was a Rescue Chief for Emergency Management Agency in Coffee County, GA for about 10 years.
In addition to his father, Aric was predeceased by a brother, George (Pam) Coon; and his step-father, Sterling Harrington.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Nancy (Steves) Coon; children, Juanita Coon of GA, Tanya (Brian) Rawson of Queensbury, Aric (Kelly) Coon, Jr. of Lake Luzerne, Robert (Theresa) Cutter of Comstock, and Nicole (Josh) Mattison of Fort Ann; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his mother, Ethel Harrington; brothers, Ernest Coon of MT, Kimberly (David) Belangee of TN, Terry (Jackie) Coon of Queensbury, and Eugene (Dawn) Coon Jr. of Queensbury; many family friends we consider "framily"; his special friends, Debra Coon, the mother of his children, and Carrie Brown; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his amazing companion dog, Gen. Lee, "Bugga."
Calling hours will take place Wednesday, August 29 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Captain Leo and Laura Lloyd officiating.
A graveside service will follow at Morningside Cemetery in Hartford.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and doctors at Glens Falls Hospital, as well as a special thank you to Ashley Luckey for her continuous care, and to Jeffrey Monsour for all his help over the years.
