Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Arthur Raymond Dally Jr., 93, of Regency Park North, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 30, 1921 in Tuxedo, N.Y., he was the son of Arthur R. Dally Sr. and Irene (McGrath) Dally.

Art graduated from Monroe High School in 1940.

On April 16, 1942, Art enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged Dec. 19, 1945. He was a longtime member of Monroe American Legion Post No. 488.

He married Joan T. Dally at St. Phillip Neri in the Bronx, N.Y.C. on June 6, 1948.

For 35 years, he was a dedicated employee at Orange and Rockland Utilities as an equipment operator.

Some of his enjoyments included hunting, fishing, and golfing.

In addition to his parents, Art was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan, on April 15, 2006, a daughter, Nancy Dally LoRe on Jan, 21, 2006, and five brothers, James, William, Richard, Gerald, and David.

Those left to cherish his memory are three children, Kathleen (Albert) Wunder of Monroe, N.Y., Lawrence Dally of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Diane Dally of Vallejo, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary DeMouth of Queensbury, N.Y.; two brothers, John Dally of North Carolina, and Thomas Dally of New Jersey; four sisters-in-law, Carol Swanwick of Goshen, N.Y., Sandy Dally of North Carolina, and Marion and Sharleen Dally, both of Monroe; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will take place Monday, March 16, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Bill Bazinet officiating.

Interment, with military honors, will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Thomas Coppens of Irongate Family Practice. While you delivered great patient care, all Art wanted to hear was what kind of fish you caught. A sincere thank you also to Art's nurse, April Cosey, as well as Theresa Caputo and all the staff at Regency Park North Apartments.
