GLENS FALLS --- Aubrey "Dave" Huntington, 65, of Windy Hill Rd., Glens Falls, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born Dec. 1, 1946 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Aubrey G. and Anna J. (Nims) Huntington.
Aubrey grew up in Hudson Falls, graduating from Hudson Falls High School and Delhi College. He served in the United States Army Corps of Engineering, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1970, and on Nov. 29, 1974, he married Katherine (Albert) at St. Alphonsus Church.
Aubrey worked for 15 years at Ciba Geigy as an electrical designer. He retired in 2011 from CRM Rental Management, Inc.
Aubrey loved to fish and be outdoors and enjoyed his time as Camp Master at Boy Scout Council Camp Wakpominee. He was a lifelong member of Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, receiving the Silver Beaver Award and Woodbadge Beads. He served for many years on the Eagle Board of Review.
Aubrey was an active member of St. Alphonsus Parish, serving as Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Building and Grounds Committee, and on parish council. Aubrey was a Fourth Degree Member of Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Marilynn Huntington, as well as various aunts and uncles, have all predeceased Aubrey.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Katherine; his two daughters, Sarah Richmond and her husband, Bryan, and Janet Briscoe and her husband, Thomas; his grandchildren, Jason Richmond, Caleb Richmond, Elizabeth Briscoe, and several cousins.
Friends may call upon the family Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. Knights of Columbus Glens Falls Council No. 194 and Fourth Degree Assembly Members will perform a brief ceremony at 6 p.m. during the calling hours.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Ft. Edward, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Queensbury.
