QUEENSBURY -- Audrey Elizabeth Lennox, 94, of Barber Ave., Queensbury, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014, at her home.
Born March 7, 1920 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth J. (Wells) Lennox.
Audrey worked in the Human Resources Department at Continental Insurance Co., formerly known as Glens Falls Insurance Co. She became the first female officer as Assistant Treasure, retiring in 1982 after 43 years of dedicated services.
Audrey was an honorary member of Glens Falls Country Club, 9-Hole Woman's Golf League, of which she was treasurer for several years. She was also member of the Chapman Museum, Feeder Canal, as well as all three Senior Citizen's Centers of Glens Falls, Queensbury, and Moreau.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Lennox Duck, one brother Byron C. Lennox Sr., and two nephews, Robert H. Lennox of Granville, NY and Colonel Dyer T. Lennox of the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include four nieces, Susan McKee of Castro Valley, Calif.; Gail McLaughlin of Baldwinsville, NY; Nancy (Rick) Beaulieu of Innisfail, Canada, and Aimee Duck of Queensbury, NY; three nephews Byron C. Lennox Jr. of Granville, NY, Craig A. (Cathy)Lennox of Middle Granville, NY, and David M. (Debby) Lennox also of Granville; one sister-in-law Leona M. Lennox of Granville; three nieces-in-law Margaret Lennox, Donna Lennox, and Sherri Lennox; several cousins, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, December 13 from 10 to 11 a.m. at The Church of the Messiah, Glen Street, Glens Falls,
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Karl Kuhn and Rev. Nancy Goff, officiating.
Interment will follow at Bay Street Cemetery, Glens Falls.
