SOUTH GLENS FALLS--- Barbara E. (Bain) Shaw, 74, of South Glens Falls, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013, at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward, with her children by her side.
Born July 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Margaret (Leary) Bain.
Barbara was a communicant of St. Mary's/ St. Paul's of Hudson Falls and the VP of the New Country Band fan club.
She retired from South Glens Falls Schools and Stanski Transportation where she was a bus monitor for the handicapped children.
Barbara enjoyed her many trips to Canada to see the churches, as well as baking, bingo and shopping, especially the QVC channel.
Her children were her proudest accomplishment and her biggest joy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert (Bobby) Bain.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Michael R. Ward and his wife, Monica, Cheryl A. Ward and her significant other, Shawn Wayman, Sheila A. Brumley and her husband, Scott; a brother, Harold Bain and his significant other, Elizabeth Miller; three grandchildren, Samantha Ward, Erik Abbott and Sean Abbott; her beloved dog, "Mollie"and her cat, "Jack Brat"; her companion of many years, Oliver Brunelle; and her best friends, Larry and Joan Lambert.
Barbara's children would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Richard Daoui and Dr. Michael Adams, the nurses and staff on 3 West of the Glens Falls Hospital, the nurses and staff of the Dialysis Center, as well as the nurses and staff of Fort Hudson Nursing Center.
Family and Friends may call upon the family Wednesday, August 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 15, at 10 a.m. at Church of St. Mary's /St. Paul's, Hudson Falls, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
