Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Barbara A. (Dowd) Seybolt, 76, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on Thursday, March 6, 2025, with loved ones by her side.

Born September 14, 1948, in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Francis M. and Sybil I. (Flemming) Dowd. She attended Queensbury High School.

Barbara married Stephen D. Seybolt on May 23, 1970, in Glens Falls, New York.

Barbara retired after over 20 years in the bakery of the Queensbury Price Chopper.

Her hobbies include crocheting, painting, ceramics, reading, and most of all spending time with the ones she loved, her children, grandchildren, friends and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Stephen D. Seybolt, and her siblings Douglas Dowd, and Francis Casey.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jodie Lackey, her sons Stephan Seybolt (Katherine), Joseph Seybolt (Sherri), Shawn Seybolt (Amy), and Jona Seybolt, her grandchildren Stephanie Steves, Noah Lackey, Annelise Seybolt, Marin Seybolt, Jonah Seybolt, Anna Sheltra, Joseph Seybolt, Nicholas Seybolt, Tanner Seybolt, Mickey Seybolt, Brent Seybolt, Quinn Seybolt, Austyn Seybolt, Mia Koda Seybolt, Kayleina Seybolt, and Axyl Seybolt; 6 great-grandchildren, Vincent, Amelia, Ainslee, Jiraiya, Aubrey, and Maddox ; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her cat, Charlie.

Visitation will take place Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shannon Kapp officiating.

A graveside ceremony will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the medical staff at Albany Medical Center for not only taking care of our mother but for being there to offer compassion and provide strength to her children during a very difficult time.  Special thanks to Jake Paquette for going above and beyond.

In loving memory of Barbara, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. She was an avid supporter of this organization.
