GLENS FALLS --- Barbara A. Duell, 84, a long time resident of Diamond Point, and most recently of Cronin High Rise in Glens Falls passed away Saturday morning, August 4, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born May 5, 1938 in Warrensburg, she was the oldest of three girls to the late Kenneth and Mary (Carpenter) Duell.
She reluctantly moved to Cronin High Rise in 2010 for health reasons, where she made many friends and enjoyed her new life there very much.
She worked many years as office manager at Marine Village Resort in Lake George. She also was a member of the Bolton Landing Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Her interests included reading, playing cards, watching her beloved Yankees on T.V. and going out on outings with her friends. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Duell and his wife, Susan, of Glens Falls; 4 grandchildren, Stephen Duell and his wife, Annette, of Queensbury, Joseph Duell and his wife, Leslie, also of Queensbury, Joshua Duell and his wife, Marybeth, of Diamond Point, and Stephanie Nasr and her husband, Zacharia of Queensbury; 5 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Duell, Kyle Duell, Tyler Duell, Marshall Freebern, Elliana Nasr; 2 sisters, Harriet James and her husband, Chuck of Austin, Texas, and Susan Duell of Warrensburg; a lifelong best friend and adopted Duell family member, John Havron of Glens Falls; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Friends may call upon the family, today, Monday, August 6, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury.
A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Henry Frueh, pastor of the Bolton Landing United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Warrensburg Cemetery, Hudson Street, Warrensburg.
