Diamond   Point   -   Barbara   Mostoller   Gates,   82,   of   Diamond   Point,
passed away March 15, 2024, at Albany Medical Center.

Born August 13, 1941 in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the
late William James Mostoller, and the late Jean Louise Wright. Raised
in Pennsylvania, the family later moved to Hampton Beach, N.H.

Following high school graduation, she went on to attend the University of New Hampshire, and
received her B.A. in English and Education. She taught English at Onteora School District in Green
County and then went on to teach English and German at Lake George Central School.

In 1966, Barbara married Clifford R. Gates in the Diamond Point Community Church and settled in
Diamond Point. After raising her two sons, Barbara worked with the Lake George Steamboat Co. as a
Group Sales Manager for many years. She was also the first woman elected to the Lake George
Town Council and served in that position for 10 years. She enjoyed quilting and needlework.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her sister Nancy Schempp.

Survivors include Barbara's sons Matthew & Michael Gates, grandsons Logan & Nolan Gates, all of
Diamond Point, nieces Kristin Pacelli of Warwick, NY & Liz Hampton of Montgomery, NY.

Private funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
