SARATOGA SPRINGS --- Barbara (Domaskin) Huestis, of Claire Pass, Saratoga Springs, passed away Monday morning, Sept. 24, 2012 at Seton Health Schuyler Ridge Residential Care in Clifton Park, from complications due to early onset Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Minot, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Helen (Rolf) Domaskin.
Barb was a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Cum Laude, with a BS degree in Medical Technology. She was also a graduate of the Hudson Valley / Albany Medical College Physician Assistant Program.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Saratoga Springs.
Barb was married to Kirby Huestis. In addition to her husband, survivors include two children, David Huestis and his wife, Christine, of Saratoga Springs, and Rebecca Huestis of Lafayette, NJ; one brother, James Domaskin and his wife, Mary, of Ross, North Dakota; one brother-in-law, W. Robert Huestis, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Willsboro; four nieces, Andrea Domaskin, Jenny Smith, Sara Miller, and Katie Huestis; two nephews, Todd and Robb Huestis; and many dear friends.
At her request, there will be no calling hours
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. at the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, 971 NY Route 146, Clifton Park, with the Rev. Alan Delamater, pastor, officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation, in loving memory of Barb, to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association Inc., 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Beacon Point Memory Care Center and also to the staff at Schuyler Ridge Residential Care, both in Clifton Park, for the excellent and superb care they gave to Barb. The family would also like to thank all of their friends and family for their visits and support for Barb as she battled with this unforgiving disease.
