QUEENSBURY --- Barbara J. Thompson, 79, of Queensbury, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.
Born March 22, 1933 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Matilda (Houseman) Burrows.
Barb attended Glens Falls High School. She married Walter "Skip" Thompson, and had the privilege of staying home and raising their children.
Barb truly loved raising her family as well as babysitting her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Barb was predeceased by her husband, Walter "Skip" Thompson, who passed away in 1981, her two sons, Bruce and Robert Thompson, and one brother, Albert Burrows.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Daigneault and her husband, Clemente, of Montreal, Quebec, Deborah Kottman and her husband, David, of South Glens Falls, Pamela Corsones and her husband, Lee, of Queensbury, and Lori Thompson of Queensbury; five sons, Michael Thompson and his wife, Christine, of Glens Falls, and Donald, Brian, and Albert Thompson, all of Glens Falls, and Walter Thompson of Queensbury; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Borders and her husband, Alan, of South Carolina, Bruce Thompson, also of South Carolina, and Michael Thompson of Queensbury; a sister, Shirley Hermance of Queensbury; two brothers, Donald and Robert Burrows, both of Glens Falls; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call upon the family Friday, March 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Major David Dean of Salvation Army officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery.
