Obituary

GLENS FALLS --- Beatrice "Bea" E. Verry, 89, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019, at The Pines in Glens Falls, after a short illness.

Bea was born in Augusta, ME, on August 4, 1929, the youngest child of George and Frances (Hurd) Frost. She grew up in Brownfield, ME, and married her first husband, Clifton Warren, in 1948.

Bea was an extraordinary waitress who began her career at the young age of 14 and it spanned for over the next 60 years. She enjoyed meeting and serving people from Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, and her last job at JC Montana's, Lake George, NY.

In 1980, Bea married Elmer "Chips" Verry, and they moved to Florida where they worked together as a team, most notably operating a homecare center for mentally challenged men. Bea has a natural talent for painting. Chips would make wood crafts and Bea would paint them.

In 1992, they moved to Glens Falls to be closer to Bea's daughter, Beverly and her husband, Ken, and their granddaughters, Kealy and Tegan Whiting. For many years, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Glens Falls. Bea and Chips liked to travel and took many motor trips together.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her husband; her son, Stephen Warren; her brothers, George Frost Jr. and Wilbur Frost, and her sister, Lottie Frost Danforth.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, Clifton Warren (Laurie) of WA state; son, Bruce Warren of VA; daughter, Beverly Warren Whiting (Ken); daughter-in-law, Patrice Warren of CT; stepson, Larry Verry (Joyce) of RI; stepson, Wayne Verry (Rita) of AL; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service with the Rev. Robert McCrory officiating will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at noon, 123 Upper Platt Street, Glens Falls, NY. A small luncheon will follow the service.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to her caregiver, Michael Fruda, for his devoted attention for several years through her battle with Alzheimer's disease.
