Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrice Leona Waite, 93, on Feb. 3, 2013. Bea was the only child of the late Hiram Everts and the late Edna King-Everts. She was a lifelong resident of the Glens Falls / Queensbury area. Beatrice graduated from Glens Falls High School and worked at the Clark Glove Factory for many years. On Sept. 5, 1941, she married Myron Waite of Stony Creek. Myron built a home for them in Queensbury and he and she lived there until their passing. Bea loved her home and family. Bea lived a long life. She was a wonderful cook and in her earlier years enjoyed needlework. She especially loved visiting the seacoast. In addition to her parents, Bea was predeceased by her husband, Myron, on Feb. 12, 2004. She is survived by her son, Leonard and his wife, Pam, of Fort Edward; her granddaughters, Laura LaPan and her husband, Marc, of Hudson Falls, Kathryn Waite and her fiancée, Chad Hedden, of West Chester, Ohio; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Madelyn LaPan, who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her cousin, Aleta Reeves of Glens Falls, and her close friend, Natalie Simpson of Fort Edward. The family would like to thank Dr. Amy Hogan-Moulton and the staff at Glens Falls Hospital and Broad St. Renal Centers. Tina Winters and Edna Alexander for their tender and tireless care of Bea during her final weeks. Also, High Peaks Hospice for their care of not only Bea, but her family too, and a special thank you to Dr. William Tedesco for all the care, concern and comfort he has given to both Bea and Myron during their years as his patients. Bea will be greatly missed. Donations, in loving memory of Bea, may be made to High Peaks Hospice, 79 Glenwood Ave., Second Floor, Queensbury, NY 12804. Friends may call upon the family Friday, Feb. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Smith, Chaplain of High Peaks Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Rd., Queensbury.
