Obituary

FT. EDWARD --- Bertha M. Morgan, (87), of McCrea St., and formerly of South Carolina, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Indian River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 6, 1929, in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Thearon Drake Sr. and Mary (Higgins) Drake.

Bertha attended the Warrensburg School District.

Her first husband was the late Warren B. Teseniar Sr. In July of 1995 she married Howard R. Morgan who passed away December 6, 2005.

While living in South Carolina, she was a hostess in the dining room at the Holiday Inn in Spartanburg, were she retired after 15 dedicated years.

Bertha belonged to the Duncan United Methodist Church in Duncan, South Carolina, where she was the financial secretary. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and volunteered her time in three nursing homes in South Carolina. Bertha was also an active member of the United Methodist Church of Queensbury.

Some of her many enjoyments were traveling, sewing, and tending to her beautiful flower gardens.

In addition to her parents, and both husbands, Bertha was predeceased by her son, Warren B. Teseniar Jr.; four sisters, Joyce Forbes, Kay Swinton, Phyllis Middleton, and Patricia Black; one brother, Thearon Drake Jr. who was missing in action during the Korean Conflict; and one cousin, Lyle Rexford.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Dee Leichert of Queensbury.

At Bertha's request there will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Bay St. Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Phaneuf, pastor of the Queensbury United Methodist Church, officiating.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made in loving memory of Bertha to Queensbury United Methodist Church, 460 Aviation Rd., Queensbury, NY 12804.
