Obituary

Warrensburg, NY - Brooke Evans On October 25, 2025, our beautiful brave girl took her final breath and joined her sister, Randi, in heaven.

Brooke arrived July 5, 1983, and from the moment she was born she faced a combination of complex incurable genetic and metabolic disorders. Being born on July 5th I referred to Brooke as our firecracker, and she always lived up to that description!

Brooke's entire life was one medical odyssey after another, but Brooke never gave up she remained fiercely strong and persevered through it all with a gentle, kind and caring spirit.

While the many struggles to find answers and appropriate medical care were never ending there were those extraordinary individuals who helped us keep going despite the odds against us allowing us to focus on providing Brooke with love and the best care possible.

First and foremost, Brooke's grandparents were always there to offer financial support and love, often sacrificing so Brooke, her sister and brother had everything they needed or wanted.

During Brooke's school years we were blessed with three more extraordinary women who joined our forever team; Mrs. Anne-Marie Lockhart, Kim Ladd-Cocca and Mrs. Anne Rohe. These women positively impacted so many aspects of Brooke's life.

Though doctors who were willing and capable of caring for Brooke were scarce the following individuals went above and beyond for us and we will be forever grateful to them: Dr. Kathleen Braico, Dr. Toni Sturm, Dr. Darius Adams, Dr. Francisco Bonilla, Dr. Frederick Dreher, Cheryl Clow RN and Warren Mac Naughton LAC

Entities in our community that showed us love and support, St Cecilia's Catholic Church in Warrensburg, Jakes Help from Heaven, The Helpers Fund, North Country Ministries, Angels for Change, Kevin Luibrand Esq. and Camp Double H, which Brooke considered one of the most beloved experiences of her lifetime. She was fortunate to attend the fall 2025 alumni session one last time.

Anyone who knew Brooke knows her passion in life was theater, acting, singing and dancing.

Brooke started dance lessons at an early age with Ms. Florence LaPoint shaping Brooke's love of everything to follow. Brooke participated in APT for a dozen years before it disbanded. In 2024 Brooke joined All Abilities Productions, in their inaugural year and she was able to make it through a second performance in April 2025. All Abilities was so much more than a drama club to Brooke. All of the wonderful individuals involved quickly became her second family.

Brooke was a shining light who left a little sparkle wherever she went.

Brooke wanted everyone to know that she was more than her disabilities and illnesses and she proved it to the world every time she stepped onto the stage!

Brooke was also a social butterfly who enjoyed talking to her many good friends. Brooke joins her sister, Randi, grandfather Roland LaFond, uncle Michael LaFond and aunt Renee LaFond, grandparents Richard and Joan Ouellette along with her great grandparents Claire and Louis LaFond and Grace and Donald Stone in heaven.

Brooke is survived by her mother, Catherine LaFond-Evans; brother, Drew Evans; her puppy, Oakley; maternal grandmother, Sandra LaFond; aunt, Rachelle and uncle, Roland LaFond Jr.; cousins, Nathan (Brittany) LaFond and Madison (Jacob) Helms; father, Charles Evans; uncle, Norman Ouellette; aunt, Pam; cousins, Heather, Nick and Kaitlin; uncle, Michael Ouellette; aunt, Jennifer; cousins, Charlotte and Jeff; aunt, Pat and uncle, Steven Ouellette (Brooke's godparents); cousins, Elise, Eric and Emily; aunt, Laureen and uncle, David Selby; cousins, Madison and Shae and many friends.
