QUEENSBURY --- Carole Jean Vannier, 89, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born on June 6, 1935 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Arthur Franklin and Helen R. (Johnson) Palmer. Following her graduation from Glens Falls High School, Carole worked as a secretary at Hercules.

Carole and Joseph James Vannier were married on April 27, 1957 at St. Alphonsus Church. Once they started a family, Carole was able to stay home and raise her children. Later in life, she returned to work at The Golden Crust Bakery and Feigenbaum Cleaners.

Every year, Carole and her family loved going on vacation to Hampton Beach, N.H. and enjoyed spending time together by the ocean.

In addition to her parents, Carole was predeceased by husband Joseph James Vannier and their daughter Sharon Charbonneau.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kim Gilles (Mike), Peter Vannier (Susie), Linda Vannier, Joanne Vannier, and Susan Vannier (Jerry); grandchildren, Michael Gilles, Kaitlyn Gilles, Justin Gilles, Jessica Vannier, Ciara Vannier, Christopher Vannier, and Shannon Charbonneau; great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Miles, Jake, Rome, Braydon, and Preston; and many cousins.

At the family's request, Carole will be laid to rest with her husband at Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury. The graveside ceremony will be private to her family.
