Obituary

Charles Anthony Abbate passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, with loved ones at his side. He was born on June 13, 1931 in Albany, New York the son of Phillipe and Bettina (Depasquale) Abbate.

He served 20 years in the Marines, fighting in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the Marines in 1968 he earned his master's in education. He received his tenure at Hudson Valley Community College in 1972. His teaching field was Criminal Justice.

Charles and his wife, Rosemary, who pre-deceased him, raised their two daughters, Brenda Scovello-Seeber, and Janice Goca-Litvack.

After 20 years of teaching at Hudson Valley he retired Professor Emeritus.

He moved to Brant Lake and was elected magistrate of Brant Lake.

In 1998 he moved to Queensbury and enjoyed 26 years there. He remarried and is survived by his wife, Andrea.

He enjoyed family get togethers, boating, golfing, woodworking projects, reading, and watching old movies. He enjoyed working with the zoning board of appeals and the board of elections.

Besides his wife, Andrea, he is survived by his daughters, Brenda Scovello-Seeber, husband, Phil Seeber and Janice Goca-Litvack, husband, Michael Litvack; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Charles was an inspiration to many and will always be loved.

Burial with military honors will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Pine View Cemetery
