Charles A.
Breault Sr.
Jul 12, 1935 — Aug 18, 2017
FORT EDWARD --- Charles A. Breault Sr., 82, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, surrounded by his family at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on July 12, 1935 in Richford, Vermont, he was one of sixteen children born to Walter and Pearl (Broe) Breault.
Charles met Helena Walker, and after a three-week courtship, Helena asked for his hand in marriage while in a row boat on #9 Pond at Sun Canyon Dude Ranch. They married on August 31, 1956, marking 60 years of marriage.
Charles enjoyed being a farmer, cooking, fishing, taking family trips, dancing, crafting, puzzle books, playing Yahtzee with his loving wife, passing down Poker to his children and grandchildren usually led by him saying, "Get your pennies out," computers and music. You could also find him enjoying a bowl of potato salad or molasses cookies. He believed all of his favorite pastimes were best spent with his family.
He was the kind of man who never knew a stranger and would take in homeless, feed them and give them a bed to rest their heads. He always picked up hitchhikers, interested in their path and story. Charles will be remembered as a lifelong teacher and learner and he was always ready to tell or hear a joke. Above all, he loved his family.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by twelve siblings.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Helena Breault, four daughters, Marilyn (Dwayne) Gorham, Lorrieanne (David) Kenyon, Theresa "Gidget" Rawlings, Helena (Octaviano) Pineda; four sons, Charles Breault Jr., Christopher Breault, Samuel (Helen Sioui) Breault, Albert (Mellissa) Breault; three brothers, Clinton "Butch" Breault, Bruce (Linda) Breault, Mitchell Breault, 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will take place at 10 to 12 p.m. on August 23 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home with an officiant from Pine Knolls Alliance Church.
Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Greenhouse and Glens Falls Hospital nurses, Katie and Melissa.
In loving memory of Charles contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
