QUEENSBURY --- Charles Ferris, 74, of Queensbury passed away peacefully on September 16, 2018. At his request, Charlie selflessly donated his body to the Maryland Anatomy Gift Registry.
Charlie was born on March 21, 1944 in Long Island.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 – 1968.
He went to Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. Charlie worked for NYS DSS in Albany, N.Y. He enjoyed his church family and his Senior Center friends, traveling, swimming, skiing, scuba diving, singing, and bowling.
Charlie was a member of The FFVAC Ambulance Core, Mohawk Valley Chorus, The Zion Episcopal Church and The Glens Falls Senior Center.
On April 21, 2012 Charlie married Everlyn Vickery at the Zion Episcopal Church in Hudson Falls.
He is predeceased by his parents, Bailey and Constance (Huerstel) Ferris, brother-in-law, Thomas Cupples, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Survivors are his wife, Everlyn Ferris; sons, Lee Ferris (Christine), Scott Ferris (April), and Corey Ferris (Allyson); stepchildren, Robert David, Marjorie Chow, and Joseph Vickery; two granddaughters; four grandsons; several great-grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara (Ferris) Cupples.
Calling hours are 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, October 29 th , at Zion Episcopal Church, 224 Main St., Hudson Falls.
A memorial Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Richard Lehmann, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Zion Episcopal Church, 224 Main St., Hudson Falls, NY 12839, Glens Falls Senior Center, 380 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801, or to a charity of your choice.
