WARRENSBURG -- Charles D. Mason, 66, of Smith Street, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at his home, with his loving wife by his side, after a brief illness.
Born, in Warrensburg, on July 19, 1948, Chuck was the son of the late Theodore and Evelyn Mason.
Well known in the area as one of the best painters, Chuck was self-employed and considered to be a Jack of all Trades, always willing to try things he hadn't done before.
He enjoyed painting. He enjoyed life and his family. Some of his many hobbies involved wagering a little on the horses and listening to music. Charles also reveled in cooking; he had a green thumb for growing things and liked to cook for his family and friends.
In Elkon, Maryland Chuck married his best friend, Billie Needham, 41 years ago.
"To those who knew Chuck, he was always outspoken about his opinion, never holding anything back. You always knew how he felt about it. Always known as being an honest spoken man. To live in the hearts we leave behind is to never die. RIP my love."
Along with his parents, Chuck was predeceased by Ethel and Ralph Jackson, his grandparents who had raised him.
Left to cherish his memory, along with his loving wife Billie, are his three children, Jessica Mason of Trenton, FL, Lucus Mason of Trenton, FL and Willis (wife Tammy) Mason of Warrensburg; his grandchildren Kelli, Erika, Nikolas, and Kloe Pattengale all of Trenton, FL, Brandon and Katie Marie Mason of Trenton, FL. William Mason of Warrensburg, and expectant grandson, Spencer Charles Mason; three sisters Velda Davis of Bronston, KY, Caroldyn Boyer of Buenside, KY, Yvonne Moody of North Creek; a brother, Philip Mason of Elizabethtown, KY; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours and services will be private and held at the family's convenience.
A special thanks is sent to Dr. Don Merrihew and his staff for showing much compassion at a most difficult time, as well as High Peaks Hospice to Beth, Steve, and Kelli for all of their care and support.
