QUEENSBURY --- Charles W. "Bubby" Baldwin, 87, of West Mountain Road in Queensbury, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. Many also knew him as Charlie, or Brother.
Bubby was born on May 5, 1928 in West Glens Falls, New York to Charles F. and Helen (Lampson) Baldwin. He graduated from South Glens Falls High School. On May 8, 1949 he married Francess B. "Sandy" (Coon) Baldwin and remained married to her for 61 years until she passed away in 2010. After high school Charlie went on to work with his father as an electrician at Baldwin & Robinson and later at Brown Brothers. He would spend his entire career working as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW.
Bubby built the home on West Mountain Road in Queensbury where he raised his children, enjoyed his career, spent many hours in his gardens, and was often engaged in playing cards or sitting by the pool with friends and family. He watched his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and enjoy the home he built with Sandy, his wife.
Bubby was predeceased by his mom and dad Helen and Pippi, his wife Sandy, his sister Virginia "Ginny" Scherer, his sister Dorothy "Dottie" Scholz, and his son Charles "Hoopy" Baldwin who passed away in 2009.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Bly of West Glens Falls; his daughter, Debbie Quinn of Glens Falls, his daughter, Tammy Petracca (Dr. Anthony Petracca) of Queensbury, and his son, Jody Baldwin of Guilderland, N.Y.; Bubby had seven grandchildren, Kevin Baldwin, Brian Quinn, Lauren Snow, Andrew Petracca, Angela Petracca, Zachary Baldwin and Rachel Baldwin; and three great-grandchildren, Braden Quinn, Kiley Quinn, and Liam Snow; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Calling hours will take place from noon until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13th at the Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury, NY 12804.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Main Street, South Glens Falls, immediately following the service. Pallbearers will include many of Bub's grandchildren.
After the burial, friends and family are invited back to Sandy and Bubby's home at 148 West Mountain Road in Queensbury.
