Christopher
English
May 16, 1955 — Jun 26, 2025
Christopher English, a beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and devoted son, passed away on June 26, 2025 at NYU Langone Hospital. He will be remembered for his warmth, generous spirit, and unwavering compassion toward everyone he met.
Christopher graduated from Hudson Valley in 1993 as a respiratory therapist, a career that allowed him to care for and comfort countless people throughout his years of service at Lincoln Hospital in New York City. His work was more than a job; it was a calling. He brought not only skill but heart to every patient he helped and every colleague he supported.
Christopher's life was rich with accomplishments and passions. Throughout his life he enjoyed photography, playing the bag pipes, flowers particularly orchids, and scuba diving. Christopher especially prized his time with his family during the holidays, which was filled with joyous memories and love. Christopher was also deeply dedicated to his 12-step recovery program, where he not only found strength and healing, but gave the same in return to others walking a similar path. Through sponsorship, service, and quiet encouragement, Christopher helped many people reclaim hope in their lives.
Christopher was predeceased by his mother, Norma English; father, Norman English; and sister, Lynn English.
He is survived by his loving sister, Susan Arcuri (Frank Arcuri); cherished niece, Andrea Seeley (Kolbi Seeley); nephew, Frank Arcuri (Nicole Arcuri); adored great-niece, Camryn; and great-nephews, Brody, Reidar, and Collin. He also leaves behind his dear friends, John (Jack) Critchley, Michael, Chaz, Penny, Dean, Susan, and so many others whose lives he touched deeply with his compassion, strength, and humor.
Christopher's legacy is one of service, empathy, and love. He gave so much to others, never seeking recognition, only hoping to make a difference. His presence will be missed beyond words, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A private service will be held for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Village Rehabilitation Center In Memory of Christopher English, 214 West Houston Street, New York, New York 10014.
