Obituary

Colin Peter Sharp, 84, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Born February 16, 1942, in Glens Falls, New York, he was the son of Jon and Helen (LaMarche) Sharp.

Peter graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1960. Following high school graduation in October of 1960, Peter joined the United States Air Force and served until October of 1966. He was a member of the American Legion in Hudson Falls, N. Y.

Peter worked at General Electric Company for many years as a supervisor of the foil mill unit.

Peter loved to hunt and fish at his camp in Newcomb, N.Y. He became an avid collector of guns which he donated to the Washington County Sheriffs.

Peter had an infectious laugh and generous way about him. He had many friends that grew to love him and looked forward to being with him.

In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his second wife, Nancy Wilcox Sharp; and grandparents, Rex and Helen LaMarche.

Those left to cherish his memory are his first wife, Lorraine Kegan Sharp; children, Eva (John) Sharp LaMay, and Colin (Joanne) Sharp; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Kaylona, Kevin (Seanna); great-grandchildren, Jaymez, Weston, and one due in November; brothers, Jon (Suzanne) Sharp, Andrew (Donna) Sharp; nieces, nephews, and cousins, Tasha, (Jakob and Moriah) Jason, (Brody, Bryton, and Brenna) Trisha, (Kate, Andrew, and Annie).

His children, Colin and Eva, cared for Peter and stayed by his side until the end.

A graveside ceremony with military honors will take place at 11:30am on June 1, 2026, at Union Cemetery in Hudson Falls.

A gathering will be held at The American Legion, 72 Pearl St Hudson Falls immediately following the service.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Michael and Carmella Havern, Mickey Carpenter, Richard Montogomery, Faith Cross, Lowell Stringer, Hospice, Dr. Tedesco, Jess Maguire, Cassey Leonard, and Matt Twitchell.

Bruce you’ll never be able to eat Pete’s pile.
