Obituary

SARATOGA --- Colleen Ann Griffin, 59, of Saratoga, passed away peacefully April 7, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born March 7, 1954 in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Joy (Yarwood) Griffin and the late John Griffin, Jr.
Colleen attended college in both Waterbury, Connecticut and St. Petersburg, Florida, where she was raised. She spent her youth traveling the United States with her siblings, and settled down in the Adirondack region of Upstate New York.
She was a retired Child Support Detective for Warren County Social Services in Warren County, New York.
She enjoyed reading, nature, animals, Native American culture, Pink Floyd and spending time with family. She spent her life actively helping and defending countless people and animals, and will be remembered for her intelligence, her strong idealism and her selflessness.
In addition to her father, John Griffin, Jr., Colleen was predeceased by grandparents, Frank and Florence Yarwood, and Selma and John Griffin, Sr.; and an uncle, Anthony York.
She is survived by her mother, Joy (Yarwood) Griffin; children, Sarah Volmar, Cody Griffin, and Michael Griffin; siblings, Rodney, Cheryl and Tim; nieces and nephews, Jenna (Tondreault) LaBarre, Emily (Griffin) French, Eric Griffin, Darcy Griffin, Gillian Griffin, Jonathan Griffin, and Kenzie Griffin; cousins, Steven and Jean York; and Aunt Alma York. She is also survived by her 3 best friends, Robert Lee, Bob Rowley and Harry Robinson.
At her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
