GLENS FALLS – Curt "Curtis" Edward Sylvester, 48, passed away Monday, Oct.17, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side.
Curtis was born in Brooklyn on May 23, 1968 the son of Ben Sylvester. His father wasn't just his dad but also his best friend.
He married his wife, Deborah (Breault) Sylvester on April 17, 2016 after meeting and instantly falling in love. They met at the hospital and had been together ever since, they were each other's rock.
Curtis worked hard as a self-employed carpenter and treasured it.
He loved cars, music, shopping for sneakers, the NY Giants and the NY Yankees and the Saratoga Race Course. He enjoyed time spent with friends at games, going to the track, and even working on cars.
More than anything Curtis spent as much time as possible with his 5 wonderful children. He loved his time with his princess Jessie and precious grandson, Jaiden who brought a smile to his face every time he was around.
Curt leaves behind his loving wife, Deborah Ann Sylvester; 5 children Jessica Sylvester (Andre Smith), A.J. Fitzgerald (Asia Norton), Jocilyn Fitzgerald, Calob Duers, and Dylan Duers; a grandson, Jaiden; his father Ben Sylvester; a brother, Edward Sylvester (Kassandra Westcott); his best friend, Rob Lafountain (Amanda Koliada); his god children, Alicia Lafountain and Robbie Lafountain Jr.; many aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as the puppy "his baby", Sebastian "Sly" Sylvester. Deborah's family includes her parents, Bruce and Linda Breault and Paul and Deborah LeBrun; her siblings, Lena Breault (Todd Mitchell), David Breault, William Dingman, Kimberly McDonald (Bill), Brad Breault Jr. (Dee), Steven Breault (Carey), and Willie Breault (Tammy), along with many nieces and nephews.
Curtis was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, and terrific son and brother, he will be dearly missed.
Calling hours will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. at the funeral home following with Sister Donna Irvine officiating.
Burial will follow at Bay Street Cemetery, Glens Falls.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff of Tower 2 at Glens Falls Hospital and Randy, Curt's favorite nurse aide.
