Dale Trumbull
Granger
Sep 25, 1936 — Mar 18, 2026
Dale Trumbull Granger, 89, passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2026, surrounded by family and his devoted canines Ollie and Nala. Dale was born on September 25 in East Orange, NJ to Eleanor (Schoonover) and Stanley Granger, both who pre-deceased him. The family eventually moved to Glens Falls where Dale graduated from Glens Fall High School, class of ’54. He received his associates degree in Hotel Management from Paul Smith’s College, honing his wonderful cooking skills. Dale moved to NYC to study voice and take college classes while working as a waiter at the iconic Schrafft’s “window store”.
From 1958-60 Dale served in the US Army, stationed in France. Back in Glens Falls, Dale shared his gorgeous singing voice and acting skills with the Glens Falls Operetta Club, now the Glens Falls Community Theatre. As a young father, he was a member of the Jaycees and the volunteer fire company. He started his own construction company, D. Granger & Sons, installing septic systems and eventually blacktopping.
In 1977, he auditioned for the Operetta Club’s, OKLAHOMA, winning the leading role of Curly and meeting his Laurie, future wife of 47 years, Pamela Greene Granger. He helped direct high school shows with her for many years, building sets and engineering special effects, to give the students the highest quality musical theatre experience possible.
Never one to sit still, Dale continued to work after he “retired” from construction. He had an airport shuttle service called “Super Shuttle”, was ski school director at West Mountain and, most recently, had been in sales for premium oil company, Schaeffer Oil. He also did find time to enjoy golf and loved boating on his precious Lake George, where he grew up as a child in a family camp on Dunham’s Bay.
Left to miss his jokes and endless stories are his children, Chris (Sue) Granger, Brian (Melissa Ethier) Granger, Jennifer (Brian) Hogan, and Jillian Granger. He was pre- deceased by sons, Bruce Granger and Andrew Granger; by his Grandchildren, Megan (Joe) Martin, Jeremy Jenkins, Andrew Granger, Sydney (Adam) Lomenzo, Samantha (Trevor) Hopeck, Quinn (Cayla Wilkins) Granger; sister, Donna (Wayne) Paul, pre- deceased by brother David (Shirley) Granger; half-siblings Noel (Peter Aust) Granger, Duncan Granger, Doug Granger and Erick Granger; as well as beloved great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There will be calling hours on Monday, March 23rd, from 4 pm to 7pm at Baker Funeral Home in Queensbury, NY. A memorial celebration will take place in June.
