Daniel "Butch"
A. Corentto
Mar 1, 1943 — May 27, 2024
QUEENSBURY --- Daniel A. "Butch" Corentto, 81, passed away at home Monday, May 27, 2024, following a brief illness.
Born March 1, 1943, in Glens Falls he was the son of Daniel J. Corentto and Florence K. Richards.
He married Sandra Jeanne Ross on June 9, 1962, in Glens Falls, and they spent 53 wonderful years together.
Butch worked most of his life selling Wise potato chips for Adirondack Brands, which he co-owned with his life-long friend, Pete Dastalto. He was often referred to as the "Wise Guy" by people who knew him on the road. Many evenings when Butch was "at work" he could be found tinkering on old bikes at the warehouse. He was a Harley man for the most part but had a real appreciation for all older and classic bikes. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing cars at the South Glens Falls Dragway, but his real passion was always motorcycles. He was a proud charter member of Adirondack Riders of Glens Falls.
In addition to his parents, Butch was predeceased by his wife, Sandra; the mother who raised him as her own, June M. Corentto (Tinney); and sisters, Joan Martin and Rosalie Sears.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tammy (Tom) Rubenstrunk, Joe (Stephanie) Corentto, Terri (Bob) Monrian, Darcie Corentto (Eric Rumpf), David (Anne) Corentto, and Mickey (Merrideth) Corentto; grandchildren, Robbie, Kristina, Julia (Alyssa), Kaylee (Brad), Abby, Marcus, Gabby, Alex, and Jenny; great-grandchildren, Sabastian, Laila, Natalie, Ryder, and Cooper; sister, Corinne A. (Peter) Peceu; brother, Michael J. (Beverly) Corentto; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Pine View Cemetery. Motorcycles are encouraged. Please meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. if you plan on riding your motorcycle to the cemetery.
A gathering will follow at 1 p.m. at the VFW Post 2475, 30 Cooper St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
