Hudson Falls – David T. Burton passed away on August 17, 2026.

He was born on November 23, 1946, in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of Roderick Burton and Nellie Wilcox Drew.

David graduated in 1964 from Schuylerville High School; he proudly served his country for the Airforce from 1965-1968 and then went to work for IBM as a customer engineer retiring after 25 years.

David enjoyed golf, sailing, skiing, tennis and pool. David found his greatest joy playing guitar. Entirely self-taught, he patiently mastered chords, scales, and technique through books, videos, and countless hours of disciplined practice. Yet music was never just a hobby – it was his way of connecting with others. Some of his happiest moments were spent playing with family and friends, where his warm smile seemed to shine brightest.

Along with his parents, he is also predeceased by his brothers, William and Robert and sister, June.

He is survived by his sisters, Jane Newell and Jeanne Shoemaker; brothers, Charlie Drew Jr.; many nephews and nieces.

An interment will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
