NEW HAVEN, CT --- David W. Karl, 70, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, with his family close by.
Born May 29, 1952, in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Edith Elizabeth (Youmans) and Benjamin Wayne Karl.
In 1988, David married Sandra Coyne in Albany, NY.
David graduated in 1970 from South Colonie high school. After moving from the Albany area, David began a new career in 2002, with South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority, before retiring in 2018.
He really enjoyed going to sports trade shows, collecting baseball memorabilia, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, and the warmth of the sun. David was also a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his beloved brother and friend, Stephen John Karl.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra Karl, of New Haven, CT; his step-children, Greg Rifenburg of Glens Falls, Steven Rifenburg of Schenectady, and Brooke Turallo of Albany; grandchildren, Saige Turallo, Dakota Rifenburg, JJ Turallo, Ty Rifenburg, Sydney Rifenburg, and Rylan Rifenburg; his uncle, Jerry Karl and his aunts, Linda and Joyce Karl; his nephew, Trevor J. Karl Sr., and niece, Kehmally M. Karl.
Visitation will take place Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
In loving memory of David, contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, General Services Office, P.O. Box 2407, James A. Farley, N.Y., N.Y. 10116.
