QUEENSBURY --- David Anthony LaPointe, 57, of Rainbow Trail, passed away at home Saturday, with his family by his side, following a long illness.
Born Aug. 14, 1958 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Leo D. LaPointe Jr. and Marion F. (Anibal) Bain.
David attended Glens Falls City School District, and was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
For many years, David was a self-employed general contractor, working as a heavy equipment operator, laborer and truck driver.
Some of his enjoyments included hunting, fishing, golfing, riding motorcycles and driving truck.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, Robert Bain, and a brother-in-law, Alfred Viger.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Michele LaPointe of Queensbury; five sons, Anthony (Sabrina) LaPointe of Queensbury, Eric (Jennifer) McFarlane of Corinth, David (Nakisha) LaPointe Jr. of Glens Falls, Michael (Stephanie) Mora of Beacon, N.Y. and Robert Mora of Millerton, N.Y.; twelve grandchildren, Dannica LaPointe, Daimon and Allison McFarlane, and Savannah and Marissa Mora, Lukus, Isiah, Aryanna, Jaden, Nevaeh, Lily and Domminic LaPointe ; three siblings, Michael LaPointe & Jackie Cory of Queensbury, Michele Viger of Queensbury, and Deborah LaPointe of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; also many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. at Pine View Cemetery.
