ARIZONA --- David T. McGuire passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Banner Heart Hospital, Mesa, AZ.
Born on November 2, 1949, in Glens Falls, NY, Dave was the son of the late Hugh McGuire and Bernice (Parrow) McGuire.
He is survived by his sons Matthew B. McGuire (Jennifer) of Wilmington, DE, Major Daniel P. McGuire USMC (Traci) of Oceanside, CA, and his loving sister Mary Beth Carpiniello (George) of Harrison, NY. He is also survived by his grandsons Connor, Ryan, and Mason McGuire and niece Erica Carpiniello and nephew Gregory Carpiniello. He was predeceased by his best friend Joseph Vogel.
Dave graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1967 and Siena College in 1971. He was a teacher for two years at St. Gregory's in Loudonville. He then served in the Army National Guard and in August, 1973, he completed Officer Candidate School at West Point.
Dave spent the majority of his working years in sales. He was a sales representative and manager for Proctor & Gamble Paper and a pharmaceutical representative for Caretech Industries.
As an avid sports fan Dave was a loyal follower of the Boston Red Sox, NY Giants and Notre Dame Football. Known as Pa to his grandsons, he adored them and they loved his visits. He will be missed by lifelong friends as well as new friends he had made in Mesa, Az. He was proud of his country, his Irish heritage, but nothing surpassed the pride he felt for his two sons who he cherished more than life itself.
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 28 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Warren St., Glens Falls, NY.
