QUEENSBURY --- David E. Poette, 79, of Leo St., died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at his home, with his family by his side.

Born April 3, 1937 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Edith Marion (Taft) and Kenneth Poette.

He married Dorothy Whittemore Poette.

David worked at Native Textiles as an electrician for many years and Securitas as a security guard in Corinth. He enjoyed his family and playing scratch off and lottery tickets and was a Boston Red Sox fan.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by two brothers, Francis Blackbird of Attleboro Falls, MA, and William Poette of North Adams, MA.

Survivors, besides his wife, Dorothy, include six children: daughters, Linda Mendoza of Central Falls, RI, Barbara Poette of St. Petersburg, FL, Laura Fogg of South Glens Falls, Melody Dingman of Glens Falls, and Cheryl Poette of Queensbury; son, David Poette of Riverside, RI; one brother, Edward Poette of Naples, FL; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

Military honors will take place at the end of the visitation.
