Chestertown - David Tyrel was born March 8, 1940, to Preston and Evelyn (Levine) Tyrel, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, with his son Dan by his side.

David was proud to serve his country from 1957-1960 in the United States Marine Corp.

David was predeceased by his daughter, Eva Tyrel; grandson, Jon-Michael Bell; and brothers, Elmer and Roger Tyrel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda (Bell) Tyrel; son, Dan Tyrel his wife, Kristin, their children, Kathleen, her husband, Joseph Rush, Julia, Clara, and David Tyrel, his son, Eric Tyrel and his wife, Becky, their children, Kayla her husband, Alex Lin, Brandon and Makayla, their son, Asher; stepson, Peter Bell his wife, Dawn, their son, Robert his wife, Kelly Bell, their children Lillian and Jacob Bell. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda Haynes and Hilda VanDerwalker, along with several extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dave’s good friends Sam, Sue, Barry & Deb for their support during this difficult time, as well as the staff of Tower 3 at Glens Falls Hospital for the compassionate care they provided.

Graveside services will be held at Pine View Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
