GLENS FALLS --- Deane Lynn Backus, 80, passed away on December 2, 2023, at The Pines.

Born July 15, 1943, in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Clifford and Hazel (Pendell) Backus.

Following graduation from high school, Deane worked as a custodian at Hudson Falls High School, Glens Falls Hospital, and The Stanton.

Deane fell in love with Angelina (Costa) Polihrom during the 1990s and loved to spend time together, with family, and friends.

Deane also enjoyed looking at and collecting different gadgets, going out and shopping with Angie and David Cameron. He was a collector of many things and truly loved life.

In addition to his parents, Deane was predeceased by the love of his life, Angelina Polihrom; and his stepdaughter, Tina Strait.

Those left to cherish his memory are his stepchildren, Theresa (Jeff) Evans, Rosalie (Matthew) Weller, Mary Lou Cameron, and Philip (Ashley) Polihrom, and their families.

Visitation will take place Friday, December 8, 2023, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Clarence Thomas officiating.

A graveside ceremony will immediately follow at Pine View Cemetery.
