Deborah
Merlow
Oct 5, 1953 — Mar 30, 2024
Deborah Merlow, 70, passed away Saturday, March 30th, 2024 in her home in Glens Falls, New York. She was a strong warrior who lost her fight to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Ms. Merlow was born October, 5th 1953, in Staten Island, New York. She was married/divorced to Thomas Mitchell in the early 70's and had 3 children Daniel, Brian, and Laura. Later in life she and Keith Nelson were blessed with another daughter, Faith, in Glens Falls, New York.
She was a stubborn woman who was set in her ways, and did her best to provide for her family. She made many sacrifices and difficult decisions to make sure all her kids had a good life.
She loved to sit around the table with family and friends enjoying a hot cup of coffee smoking her cigarettes and telling great stories. She loved animals more than people. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and went out of her way for the ones she loved in her life. She was a very special person in her own way and expressed her love accordingly. Everyone she met became family and referred to her as "D", Mom, or Nana. She truly will be missed and Never Forgotten!
Preceded in death are her brothers David and Lenny Nugent, may they rest in peace.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Laura Mitchell and her husband John Louis Lemery III of Glens Falls, Brian Mitchell of Las Vegas/Florida, Daniel Mitchell and his wife Shameka Anderson of Las Vegas, and Faith Nelson and her fiancé Jason Scidmore of Glens Falls; grandchildren, Aleena Mitchell/Oppegard, Sabrina Andre Matishek, Tina, Giovanni, and Thomas Mitchell, Layla and Ivy McKinney; great granddaughter, Alayla Mitchell; brother, Michael Nugent of Florida.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury, NY 12804.
Condolences and floral arrangements may be sent to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury, NY 12804 or e-mailed through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
