QUEENSBURY-- Delores C. Haas, 80, of Chestnut Ridge Rd, previously of Gansevoort, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the House of Grace, from cancer.
Born, in Troy, on October 29, 1933, Delores was the daughter of the late Herald and Edna (Teal) Grandjean.
Delores went to Lansingburgh High School in Troy. Shortly after, she enlisted in the Navy, where she met her soon to be husband, Sgt. Raymond J. Haas, a Marine at the time. On August 23, 1952 they were married in Philedelphia, PA. Together, Delores and Raymond shared a wonderful 63 years together.
Delores worked at locally at both the Glens Falls Hospital and the Glens Falls First National Bank, where she was Lead Teller.
She enjoyed reading, listening to Celtic music, and needlework. She enjoyed life.
Along with her parents, Delores was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Grandjean and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Haas.
Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Raymond; their four children Raymond E. Haas, Lynn (husband Richard) Saunders, Joan (husband Roy) Gordon, Kurt J. (wife Peggy) Haas, seven grandchildren Kurt J. Haas Jr, Morgan R. Haas, Alex S. Haas, Kelli M. Haas, Aaron T. Haas, Richie Saunders, and Jacob Saunders, three great grandchildren Sadie Williams, Traleigh Williams, and Madalyn Haas; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved dog, Molly Anne.
At Delores request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Burial, with military honors, will be held on Friday, August 22, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY.
A gathering, immediately following the internment, will be held at the Gansevoort Volunteer Firehouse, 1870 Route 32N Gansevoort, NY.
A special thanks is sent to the wonderful staff on Tower 2, Glens Falls Hospital, and the great folks at The House of Grace.
