SALEM --- Dennis R. Mitchell, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 27, 2020, after a brief illness.

Born on March 26, 1949 in Ballston Spa, he was the son of Roger Brooks and Doris Mae (Slider) Mitchell.

Dennis was a graduate of Queensbury High School and went on to attend Conservation School. He also served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971.

He retired after many years working as the receiving manager at Ames in Queensbury.

Dennis loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed card games, baseball, gardening and cooking.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Allison Mitchell; brother, William Mitchell, and sister, Patti Mitchell.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Brandy Mitchell; brother, Donald Mitchell; also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 12 to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A graveside ceremony with military honors will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
