LAKE GEORGE --- Diana M. Hutchinson, 72, a longtime resident of Lake George, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center, with her family by her side, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
Born Oct. 23, 1942 in Norwich, N.Y. she was the daughter of Garner Frederick and Vivian Anna (Crocker) Barton.
On March 29, 1961, she eloped with her Glens Falls High School sweetheart, Robert "Hutch" Hutchinson in Wentworth, N.C. They spent 41 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2002.
Diana had various jobs while raising her children before going to school. She graduated top of her class at Adirondack Community College with a Business Degree. She then started and successfully operated her own business, Dust-A-Way, for several years.
When she retired in 1997, they moved to Virginia Beach, where Hutch served as the Dean of Student Services at Tidewater Community College. After surviving an aggressive lung cancer and the passing of her husband, she came back home to be with her family.
Diana enjoyed boating and playing with her dogs, but above all she loved spending time with her family. She also spent time gardening and birdwatching.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Hutch" Hutchinson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Bruce Hutchinson and his companion, Lynn Thompson, Kimberlie Stein and her husband, David, and David Hutchinson and his wife, Tracy; seven grandchildren, Devon and Alana Hutchinson, Jessica, Dylan, and Alexis Stein, and Ashlyn and Justin Hutchinson; and extended family, with special mention of her very close sister- and brother-in-law, Helen and Roger Hutchinson; and her beloved dog, Gracie.
