QUEENSBURY--- Diane Marie Wood,73, passed away on March 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes and lung cancer, at the Stanton Nursing Home in Queensbury.
Born on September 4, 1943 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Henry Robert Clayton of Sacramento, CA, and Ruth (Reed) Clayton of Glenville, NY.
Diane was a college attendant. She retired as an executive secretary at General Electric in Schenectady.
In 1984, she married the love of her life, Russell William Wood.
Diane was very creative and loved crafts including quilting, needlework, ceramics and beading.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and brother, Henry Robert Clayton.
Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Rebecca (Jerry) Horn of Waterford, NY and Wesley Tulloch of Albany; four grandchildren, Brittanie Battista of Odenton, MD, Brooke Battista of Cherry Valley, NY, Elizabeth Tulloch of Buffalo, and Michelle Tulloch of Buffalo; mother-in-law, Lorie Clayton of Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law, Lynn Clayton; two nephews, Sean and Tristan Clayton; and cousin, Rev. Terrance and Barbara O'Neill.
Services will be private to the family.
Diane will be placed with the love of her life, Russell Wood.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the west wing Stanton Nursing Home, ICU staff of Glens Falls Hospital, the kind folks at Baker Funeral Home who have been such a great help during this difficult time, and Theresa Crandall for being such a good friend.

Towards the end, Mom had her children and son-in-law who enjoyed hours of laughter while her candle burned brightest. In the end, she suffered no pain but joined her best friend Carolyn (Stone) Pashley who passed exactly two years to the day of mom's passing.
